How to read potency classes

By the Fungi Delivery Product TeamUpdated

Short answer

Fungi Delivery places every dried strain in one of three potency classes: Low–Mid (gentlest), Mid–High and High+ (strongest). The class describes the strain, not a serving size. First-time buyers usually start with Low–Mid.

Key terms

Potency class
A three-step label comparing strains with each other.
Strain
A variety of Psilocybe cubensis, such as Golden Teacher or Enigma.
Serving size
How much you take. Potency class doesn't tell you this; the product label does.

The three classes

ClassWho it suitsStrains today
Low–MidFirst-time buyers, steadier sessionsGolden Teacher, Shakti
Mid–HighPeople who know how they reactAlbino Choda, Albino Hillbilly, Amazonian, Aztec God, Blue Smurf, Trinity, White Rabbit
High+Experienced users onlyAlbino Penis Envy, Albino Jedi Mind Fuck, Blue Meanies, Enigma, Ghost, Jack Frost, Penis Envy, Tidal Wave

Using the classes

Compare strains within the same class first. Moving up a class is a bigger change than switching strains inside one. Whatever you choose, start with a small amount and wait at least 90 minutes before taking more.

Storage

Potency drops with light, heat and moisture. Keep dried mushrooms sealed in a cool, dry, dark place.

Why classes, not numbers

The science behind the labels.

Same strain, different strength

Independent lab tests found dried P. cubensis from 0.14% to 1.98% psilocybin, with larger swings between flushes than between strain names.
